Itinerary

Day 1Gran Melia Arusha, Arusha

Kilimanjaro Airport (KIA) – Arusha
Arrive in the evening at Kilimanjaro International Airport. After completing passport control and customs, meet your professional private safari guide from Rockhopper Africa Safaris, who will be waiting to welcome you. From the airport, enjoy a scenic drive to Arusha for a warm reception and check-in at your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Gran Melia Arusha, in a Red Level Deluxe Mount Meru View room.

Day 2Tarangire Kuro Treetops Lodge, Tarangire National Park

Arusha – Tarangire
After breakfast, depart from your Arusha hotel and drive approximately two hours to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. Being the start of your nine-day safari, your guide may make a short stop for any last-minute personal shopping. In the evening, transfer to Tarangire Kuro Treetops Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3Tarangire Kuro Treetops Lodge, Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park
Spend the entire day exploring Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant populations and iconic baobab trees. During the dry season (June to November), the park teems with thousands of zebra, wildebeest, and buffalo. Other common wildlife includes waterbuck, giraffe, dik-dik, impala, eland, Grant’s gazelle, monkeys, and olive baboons. Predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and even African wild dogs also roam here. With over 550 recorded bird species, Tarangire is a paradise for birdwatchers. Day 4Ngorongoro Oldeani Mountain Lodge, Ngorongoro Region

Tarangire – Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Despite its small size, this park is one of Tanzania’s most diverse reserves. Two-thirds of the park is taken up by the lake, with the Great Rift Valley escarpment forming a dramatic backdrop. Explore lush forests, open grasslands, and the soda lake. The park is home to over 350 bird species and the famous tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing to Ngorongoro Oldeani Mountain Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge, Ndutu

Ngorongoro Crater – Ndutu
Begin early with a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, where the diverse landscapes range from forested slopes to open savannah. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the best places to spot the Big Five in one day, along with wildebeest, zebras, hippos, and a vast array of birdlife. After a picnic lunch, travel onward to Ndutu for dinner and overnight at Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge.

Day 6Ole Serai Luxury Camp Kogatende, Northern Serengeti

Ndutu – Serengeti
After breakfast, journey into the Serengeti via Naabi Hill Gate, stopping for wildlife viewing along the way. Arrive at Ole Serai Luxury Camp – Kogatende in time for lunch. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive in the Serengeti, then return for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7Ole Serai Luxury Camp Kogatende, Northern Serengeti

Serengeti National Park
Enjoy a full day dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti. Your route will depend on the location of the migrating herds, which are closely followed by predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The Great Migration’s movements depend on seasonal rains, but your Rockhopper Africa Safaris guide will know the best locations to find the action. Dinner and overnight at Ole Serai Luxury Camp – Kogatende.

Day 8End of Itinerary

Kogatende – Arusha – Kilimanjaro
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive on the way to Kogatende Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Arusha. Upon arrival, your private guide will transfer you to a hotel in Arusha for lunch before continuing to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight home.
