Unlike Tsavo East, Tsavo West features varied landscapes including swamps, natural springs, extinct volcanic cones, rolling plains, and sharp reddish outcrops.

Wildlife and Safari Highlights

Tsavo West is home to diverse wildlife. You can spot:

  • Lions, elephants, leopards, and cheetahs

  • Buffalo herds and hippos in rivers

  • Unique species like lesser kudu and oryx

Moreover, the park allows off-road driving and night drives for thrilling safari experiences.

Scenic Attractions

Tsavo West boasts spectacular natural landmarks such as:

  • Mzima Springs – crystal-clear pools inhabited by hippos and crocodiles

  • Chyulu Hills – volcanic hills offering breathtaking vistas

  • Shetani Lava Flow – a dramatic volcanic landscape
